Phil Prescott

Phil Prescott is a lifelong resident of Eastern North Carolina and the owner/broker of NextHome Inner and Outer Banks, along with his wife, Renee. A dedicated public servant and results-oriented professional with over 30 years of experience in workforce development, business services, economic growth, and public leadership, Phil brings deep regulatory knowledge, integrity, and a strong commitment to community service to his professional and community service roles.
In his last role as the Assistant Director/Business Services Representative for the Eastern Carolina Workforce Development Board, Phil acted as a key liaison between businesses and workforce initiatives across Eastern North Carolina. He fostered partnerships with employers, community colleges, and economic development agencies, and holds certifications, including the Business and Employer Services Professional (BESP) and the Certified Workforce Developer through NC State University Talent Economics. His extensive background also includes managing large-scale FEMA acquisition and HUD relocation projects following Hurricanes Fran and Floyd—developing policies for complex transactions and serving as a Pamlico County Commissioner (1990–1998), where he helped in moving the county forward with water and sewer projects while navigating local, state, and federal regulations. |
Phil’s career spans grant management, local government solutions, leadership in the seafood industry, and executive management. His public service includes serving on numerous boards, such as the North Carolina Clean Water Management Trust Fund Board and the NC State Cooperative Extension Advisory Council, and ongoing roles with the Pamlico Rescue Squad Board of Directors. A proud father to Phillip and Sarah, devoted grandfather to Emily and Grant, and devoted husband to Renee. Phil looks forward to combining his local expertise with a passion for ethical, relationship-based interactions to serve Pamlico County and our region.
