SECU Public Fellowship Program Summer 2025 Intern Maya Beatty, a rising senior at East Carolina University, joined Imagine Pamlico’s team for her first internship experience, sponsored by the SECU Public Fellows Internship Program. As a Marketing/MIS degree student, Imagine Pamlico was thrilled to have her aboard, as we needed to take our online presence to the next level.
A native of Hickory, NC, Maya enjoyed the unique landscape of our Inner Banks. “The first time I drove into Pamlico County, I found myself enjoying the quiet, open landscape,” recalls Maya. Check out Maya's final presentation HERE about her internship. |
Maya created our first E-newsletter from nothing - no small feat for anyone learning Constant Contact from scratch. She also revamped our entire website, incorporating branding and messaging; she successfully navigated the challenges of ensuring that a website is appealing to the myriad target markets of a nonprofit. Along the way, she worked with the newest LLMs in AI for content marketing, embracing each new technology milestone with ease.
Maya was also instrumental to the success of our first-ever Rural Health and Wellness Conference. Maya conducted the venue inspection, created conference materials, set up the venue, greeted registrants, facilitated lunch and stayed for the final tear-down after the event, always proactive, helpful, and cheerful. Post-event, she wrote and distributed her first press release, which was picked up by five news outlets.
Of course, we wouldn't be doing our job if we didn't bring Maya out into our community to visit local areas of interest, businesses, and nonprofits. We miss you, Maya! Come back and visit us soon!
